3M™ HQB and HQC Laser Imaging Films by Imation™ are designed to match the output of the infrared laser diode used in the 3M ™ 969 HQ Laser Imager System by Imation™. Excellent image detail and consistent system performance can be obtained using Imation laser imaging films.

The Imation™ HQB and HQC laser imaging films are coated on a clear or blue, seven mil, polyester base which allows for trouble-free film transport in the Imation™ 969 HQ Laser Imager System. In addition, an antihalation image enhancement layer provides sharp images by virtually eliminating light scatter.

The contrast and speed characteristics of Imation HQB and HQC laser imaging films are optimized to match the Imation 969 HQ Laser Imager System's infrared laser output. These films work together with system software options to provide quality and consistency from image to image and film to film.

Imation system engineering and emulsion technologies are designed to produce consistent image quality and reliable performance for the Imation 969 HQ Laser Imager System when used with Imation HQB and HQC laser imaging films. Clearly, this makes the Imation 969 HQ Laser Imager System the standard in digital imaging.

Availability

Imation HQB and HQC laser imaging films are available in Imation Instant Daylight Load Film Cartridges which allow film loading without removing the magazine from the laser imager system and eliminate the need for a darkroom.

These convenient cartridges hold up to 125 sheets of film and offer a choice of three film sizes 8" x 10" (20cm x 25cm), 11" x 14" (28cm x 36cm) and 14" x 17" (36cm x 43cm) to meet a variety of requirements. Plus, special bar codes tell the Imation 969 HQ Laser Imager System precisely how many sheets of film remain and what kind of media is contained in the cartridge.

Spectral Sensitivity

Imation HQB and HQC laser imaging films are infrared sensitive and have been sensitized to the infrared light emission of the Imation 969 HQ Laser Imager System.

Image Quality

Imation HQB and HQC laser imaging films exhibit a greater dynamic range which is designed for more complete and accurate images. A special 3M-developed film emulsion eliminates interference patterns caused by reflected light to provide maximum image quality and the highest possible diagnostic information.

Imation HQB and HQC laser imaging films feature: cool black image tone; dense black background; sharp, clear alpha numerics; high contrast and optimized speed. These features, combined with system software options, make these films the right choice for the Imation 969 HQ Laser Imager System.

Processing and Darkroom Handling

Imation laser imaging films are designed to be easily handled in a darkroom using a suitable green safelight such as the 3M™ IR Safelight by Imation™ . Imation HQB and HQC laser imaging films can be processed in any automatic processor. For automatic processing, Imation film processors are recommended.

Storage

Unlike other infrared-sensitive films, Imation laser imaging films require no special refrigerated storage conditions. Imation laser imaging films must be protected from radiation and chemical fumes. For consistent results up to the expiration date indicated on the film cartridge, the film must be stored in a relatively cool, dry place. Recommended storage conditions:
5 degrees C to 25 degrees C (41 degrees F to 77 degrees F).
